About Me

“I’m a governance and senior executive leader with experience across education, regulation, Crown entity, and for-purpose settings. I bring a practical mix of board experience, public-sector judgement, and executive delivery — with particular strengths in risk, assurance, safeguarding, cybersecurity, stakeholder trust, and performance oversight. My current work is focused on strengthening regulatory systems that protect children and uphold public confidence in the teaching profession. I lead core regulatory and safeguarding functions for the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand, working closely with the Board and executive leadership on complex risk, statutory accountability, and system improvement. I have also chaired the Ara Foundation, a charitable trust supporting vocational education and research in Canterbury, and served as a director of offshore education subsidiaries. Earlier executive roles in international education and tertiary education gave me deep experience in strategy, investment, sector engagement, and organisational change. I’m interested in governance roles where careful judgement, public trust, learner outcomes, and long-term impact matter.”
