About Me

“I have spent 25 years of my career dedicated to the development of the health and safety industry and those that work within it. In my business I provide direction and guidance to industry aimed at being a provider that business goes to for value added assistance. My extensive experience in the health and safety sector enables me to help organisations build sustainable and valued relationships with their workers and aid in the development of their approach to due diligence, risk management and continual improvement. My professional and personal development over the last 10 years have been focussed on working at a governance and leadership level, a significant achievement during this time has been the completion of a ‘Masters, in Advanced Leadership Practices. More recently I have been focussing on developing my capabilities around cultural intelligence. I am a life member of both the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management and the Society of CQ Fellows. I have held several key governance roles in the health and safety industry over the previous 10 years. This has included leadership roles with the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management (NZISM) where I have been a member since 2001. I have been the representative for NZISM on the Board of the International Network of Safety and Health Professional Organisations (INSHPO), since 2016. In 2020 I was nominated and successfully voted onto the Executive Committee of this organisation where I have held the roles of Vice President, President Elect and President (2022) and Immediate Past President. I am currently Secretary for this organisation. I held the role of President of NZISM for two, 2-year terms (2016 – 2020) during which time I had a seat on the Board. From 2014 to 2020 I represented NZISM on the governance board of the Health and Safety Association of New Zealand (HASANZ) and prior to that I spent two years as Chair of the Occupational Health and Safety Industry Group (OHSIG) a pre curser organisation to HASANZ.
