About Me
“I'm an 'interesting' prospect for boards seeking someone who has a track record for delivering real outcomes in a diverse range of market sectors. My husband and I sold our successful Bay of Plenty based, hydrographic survey business (Discovery Marine Limited) about 3 years ago. DML was a start-up that we scaled and sold after 25 years at the helm. I was responsible for strategy, governance, compliance & risk, marketing and sales for our business. From a sales perspective, I led Tenders into NZ and Australian government and served on a business reference group with MBIE - which was evaluating procurement policy with private industry. Along with first-hand experience of business ownership, I have quite significant experience in Franchising, FMCG, Services, SaaS and SMEs sectors. As a business consultant, I helped a SaaS start-up (LawVu) secure 1st round funding; and fully commercialised Nothing Naughty a healthy snack food start-up. Both entities are still going strong some years on which is an impressive strike rate in the Start-Up sector. I have a reputation for identifying and guiding sustainable and profitable growth through a market and customer centric approach. I've also served on a local school board for 6 years and provided advisory services to a Nationwide Award-Winning franchise and recently a nationwide wholefoods business. I have a genuine desire to see NZ's regions prosper and believe there's a tonne of potential waiting to be untapped. I no longer wish to hold an operational role, so am seeking board advisory or governance roles with organisations that are seeking manageable growth. Although I'm based in the Bay of Plenty, I have the flexibility to travel as required.”
