About Me
“I am a Senior lecturer and researcher in the Department of Populatin Health at the University of Otago in Christchurch and have a four year old daughter. My research and teaching are underpinned by systems approaches to population and environmental health issues. I focus on health, urban and, food and transport systems and their impacts for a range of health behaviours and health and wellbeing outcomes, including nutrition and physical activity. My research links public and environmental health with urban and transport planning. I have worked extensively with older adults and lower income groups to understand diverse experiences of accessibility and mobility. These groups source a considerable amount of their physical activity from active transport. ”
