About Me

“I’m motivated by work that creates lasting impact for people, place and communities, and I thrive at the intersection of strategy, storytelling and leadership. A strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in leadership and sport, I was proud to serve as Chair of Northern Districts Cricket Association until December 2023, giving back to a sport I love through governance, executive leadership and national initiatives including the 2022 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup and NZ Cricket’s Women in Governance programme. A member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors, I have held governance roles across professional sport, CCOs, arts and events, community organisations, private companies and large financial trusts. Most recently, I have been a Director of Sport Taranaki and Taranaki Rugby Football Union - roles I sadly needed to give up when I moved from Taranaki to Bay of Plenty. My career spans the public and private sectors, with senior experience across management, marketing, communications and events. I have led the delivery of a diverse mix of large‑scale events, working in complex stakeholder environments and high‑profile, high‑impact settings. Most recently, I led the New Zealand Government Major Events team, responsible for securing, funding and supporting the delivery of major events across Aotearoa. Portfolio events during my tenure included the FIFA Women’s World Cup, ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, Sail GP, World Choir Games, Supercars and the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship. These experiences honed my expertise in strategic planning, government relations, commercial partnerships and legacy‑focused event delivery. I now lead the team at Destination Hauraki Coromandel, the Regional Tourism Organisation promoting the Coromandel Peninsula and Hauraki under The Coromandel brand #GoodForYourSoul. Our vision is that tourism enriches life for locals and visitors, contributing directly to the protection and enhancement of our cultural and natural environments. We work in partnership with the tourism industry, Thames‑Coromandel District Council, Hauraki District Council, mana whenua, and wider visitor‑sector partners to deliver sustainable outcomes for our region. Alongside my executive roles, I am a professional MC and speaker, known for bringing energy, warmth and credibility to conferences, summits, awards evenings and sporting events. I regularly host and facilitate conversations across tourism, business, leadership, sport and community, with a particular passion for stories that inspire connection, inclusion and positive change. My background in events, governance and senior leadership allows me to confidently engage diverse audiences and stakeholders while keeping programmes focused, engaging and outcomes‑driven.”
