“While never a finished product when it comes to personal growth, development and leadership, I have been fortunate to lead teams both on the rugby field (Black Ferns Captain, Chiefs Super Rugby Captain, Bay of Plenty Volcanix Captain) and in the workplace (Player Development Manager, HR Business Partner). Through these roles I have an understanding of effective leadership through transparent communication and collaboration. As a Board Member on the New Zealand Rugby Players Association I am constantly learning the roles and importance of good governance and am passionate about continuing to grow in this space with aspirations to promote sustainable business practices for organisations I represent. I value the importance of diversity and inclusivity and how these can foster innovative and creative environments. Additionally, I further value the importance of a collective voice and find that while I am confident to share my view, I will support the greater cause and best interests of the business and its future. While still very new to governance, I am excited to continue to grow in this space and I look forward to the opportunity to do so.”
