About Me

“Based in Auckland, but originally from Tauranga, I am a freelance sports broadcaster, commentator, writer and MC. I can regularly be heard commentating netball, rugby, cricket, tennis and anything else thrown my way for both TV and radio. From a sports mad family, my own athletic abilities were fair-to-middling but I've found a skill in being able to talk about it! Sport has shaped my life and I would like other young girls and women to know there are so many paths it can take you on. I'm an advocate for better media coverage of women's sport and female athletes, and mentor to young women entering the sports media. I love big ideas and finding ways as to why we should do something, rather than why we shouldn't. Also, if you ever need a book recommendation or a cafe recommendation in most towns or cities in New Zealand, then I'm very helpful in this area. Thanks! Rikki ”
