About Me

“I am an empathetic, motivated, ambitious and passionate leader. I have over 10 years of experience in the sport and recreation sector of which the last three years has been in the area of a Sport and Recreation Consultant. I am passionate about improving cultural diversity in sport and recreation, increasing Asian participation in sport and recreation through cultural intelligence, and increasing the number of Asian females in the sport management space. I believe change is required at a governance level if sport and recreation organisations wish to remain sustainable, effective, and accurately reflect the growing and diverse Auckland communities. At board level, I am currently a Board Member for Harbour Sport, a Board Member for the Auckland/Northland Region (Recreation Aotearoa) and was previously a Board Member for Counties Manukau Badminton Association. The key skills I bring at a board level is my experience and research in cultural intelligence, my involvement in Chinese and Asian sport leadership and policy development, my focus on cultural diversity, and increasing the number of females in sport leadership positions. ”
